Q: When I try to overwrite, the new text appears to be layered over the old text.
In it's default configuration Visual Typewriter simulates a real typewriter. In real life, when you wanted to fix a minor typo you would backspace and overwrite the new text on-top an existing text.
You can switch to a more comfortable setting by clicking the editor defaults button in the setup panel.
Q: When I press send, nothing happens.
Visual Typewriter's default configuration is to send mail using a MAPI-compliant e-mail software. Not all e-mail clients are MAPI-compliant. Try configuring Visual Typewriter to send mail using SMTP (setup > mail > smtp).
Q: Why can't I hear speech?
Visual Typewriter requires your computer to have Microsoft® SAPI 5.1 installed. You can check if you have this component installed by reviewing you computer's control panel.
Go to Start > Control Panel > Speech. If you can see the speech panel and have only one tab panel then you have SAPI 5.1 installed and your problem may be hardware related.
If you cannot see the speech panel or the speech panel has more than one tab then you may need to install the SAPI 5.1 files:

Q: Why can't I save my documents?
When you first download and install Visual Typewriter it will run in DEMO mode until you register and activate it by entering your license key in the registration window. When Visual Typewriter works in DEMO mode you cannot save documents. You may still export and print your documents.
Q: When saving my document, do I need to copy the stationery file as well?
No. Your stationery graphics is being saved together with your .vtd file.
Registration
Q: I have payed using an e-check but did not get my license key yet.
PayPal takes 3-4 days to process e-check payments. Only then will PayPal notify us of your purchase and you will get your license key.
Q: I have completed the purchase but did not get the license key.
Sometimes our automated license mail is being filtered by spam filters. Check your spam folder for our message. If you still cannot find it, contact us and we will manually send you the license key message.
Q: I have purchased a license key but when I press Activate nothing happens.
The license key is composed of 4 lines of random letters. Make sure you copy & paste all 4 lines, without any leading or trailing characters, spaces or lines.
Q: Do I receive a boxed software?
No. We deliver our products using Electronic Software Distribution only (simply put, download) over the internet. This way we can keep our pricing low and you get your product instantly.
Q: Which credit cards are accepted?
Our payment processor (PayPal) accepts all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diner's Club.
Q: PayPal is not available where I live. Is there another way I can pay?
Unfortunately no. Currently the only payment method is PayPal.
